The HOA contracts with GFL Environmental for waste management for the neighborhood. The costs of this service are included in your HOA dues.

Waste Pickup

Waste is picked up once a week on Thursdays. GFL recommends that bins be out for pickup no later than 5am on pickup days. It is acceptable to place bins out the evening before pickup. Bins should be placed according to this diagram. You can click on the diagram for more details directly from GFL.

Our contract allows for a single bin per week. If you have additional waste, GFL sells bag tags that will signal to the waste handlers to pick up waste located outside the bin. Without these tags, any waste outside the bin will *not* be picked up.

Recycling

Recycling is picked up the same day as waste. It is not necessarily picked up at the same time, so don’t worry if you see only one bin emptied when the truck comes by. Recycling must be in the recycling bin. If you have additional recycling, GFL will pick it up if it is in a study bin such as the blue plastic recycling bins you may see at home improvement stores.

Recycling must meet the guidelines posted on GFL’s website in order to be picked up and recycled. Failure to follow the guidelines may result in GFL leaving your materials behind.

Yard Waste Pickup

Yard waste pickup is included in the services provided by the HOA. Yard waste must be in a standard paper yard waste bag.

These bags may be purchased at a variety of home improvement, hardware, or general household store or website. Examples include The Home Depot, Menard’s, and Ace Hardware, all of which are within a few miles of Rock Hill.

Bins

Waste service includes a large plastic waste cart and a large plastic recycling cart. These carts are provided by GFL and are their property. If you leave Rock Hill, bins should be left at the home for the next resident to use.
